Blog 4- webspeak
Webspeak is rapidly becoming apart of our lives on and offline. A lot of people use webspeak in emails, chats, and text messages because it is faster and easier to use. I myself am a victim of webspeak but i generally use it when i am on the internet, even right now im guilty of using it. My text messages never really contain and abbreviations. A big problem people are facing is the fact that webspeak is beginning to be used in school papers, which is actually hurting the students because they are not using proper English.

Like I relied in other blog, let's stay focus and be correct in our work. Corrupt English makes us look lame and uneducated.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how webspeak became part of our internet lingo. It's pretty amazing that we are a part of history in bringing forth a new language all on it's own. There is something to be said for that.
ReplyDeleteI have heard a lot of faculty complain about webspeak in papers, but I haven't really seen this myself. Do you think it happens more when students are freshmen, or maybe in high school?
ReplyDeleteI believe we are all gulity of using webspeak but the ones that have it bad is our upcoming genration. The reason being is the new technolgy that's being introduce on a day to day basics, they even have a new upcoming word dictinaries. lol
