Wow. Teenagers are out thinking adults by way of internet and technolgy. Are we falling by the way side, when it comes to computer systems, or information? It is amazing how teenagers can learn how to manuver technolgy, and not class work. Change in technology is allowing us to enhance accessible use of the internet, but in other ways making us fall short on daily responsibilites. What I mean by this is that, technology is looking out for us when it comes to easy, accessble access to research materials using the internet. Then, on the negative aspect we are becoming lazy people that want know what it's like to read books or magazines.
Changing Technology! We want be behind, we will just change with the flow of new information and learn all that we can learn. No one can hurt from a change, only improve and be better in quality.
i really liked your thought on how it is amazing how teenagers can learn how to maneuver technology and not class work. There are all these contests now on how fast you can text and teens are using webspeak more and more and its affecting their schoolwork. im sure that in the future webspeak will be acceptable to use in papers and even in face to face conversations!

ReplyDeleteI think that's because for teenagers and younger adults, they are still in the "absorbing new things" stage of their lives. Whereas for the older crowd, unless there is an easily identifiable benefit to learning something new, they are reluctant because of all the other responsibilities they have.
It makes sense because learning out of a book is not near as fun as playing something on a computer, schools need to find new ways to incorporate games on computers with school. History could be taught in so many different fasions.
ReplyDeleteAre teens really out-thinking adults? Or maybe they are just googling faster because they don't know the answer. We have become paralyzed to not depend on technology. It wouldnt surprise me to see yet another movie on a new D-day about life without technology.
